Hong Kong - The land of talking stairs and trains. The land where half the people there use iPhone (== still can't own one..) Ahem, oookkaaayyy!! Erm.. day one, wake up at three in the morning to catch the cab (YAAAAWWWWNNN!!) After that, the cab came, put bags in the trunk.. get in.. Hey, wait, wait, wait.. If i explain in detail, I won't finish till tomorrow (AArrrgh!! SCHOOL!!! That very word sends shivers down my spine.. Grrr..) So.. skip, skip, fast forward, zoom... Ah, in the plane at last. It was so cold in there, like being inside a fridge. After like an hour and a half into the flight, I started to doze off, then suddenly.. DOM!! DUM!! BAM!! SChhhh!!! The whole plane started to shake. The flight attendant was like "Due to unfavourable weather conditions, you are advised to return to your seats and fasten your seat belts for your own safety. The use of the bathroom at this time is prohibited" Then the guy in front me said "Aiyaaaaaa!! I need to PEE!!" xD Then after two hours of going up down, left right, everywhere, the plane finally arrived at HKIA. After going off the plane, I stared in awe as though I've never heard of calculators. Everything there was hyper modern. Talking escelators, reminding you to "watch your step" and "hold the hand rail" high speed trains that just whisk you to your desired destination, saying things like "please stand back from the doors" and other reminders. After my parents checked in at the hotel, my father took us for lunch. LUNCH!!! In reality, it was only 2.00 pm, but to me, it was like 9.00 pm. So I stayed awake for 21 out of the 24 hours that day (xS) After lunch ( Some Hong Kong goose rice, I think.. I duno what I ate) xD Anyways, after lunch, skipping the boring parts, 6.40 pm, my father took us to the night market near Mong Kok train station. They sell EVERYTHING there!! (Except pets and furniture) And the bargains!! (No emote available to show how I felt) Everything except food was half price there!!! Contoh*
Cell Phone = M'sia $600 HK $300 when converted to M'sian ringgit.
Jeans = M'sia $200 HK About 80 bucks..
But there's a catch, the FOOD!! As nice as it is, it sure aint cheap.. My mom say it's nearly 3 TIMES the cost of Malaysian food!! I think we ended up spending more on food than stuff. xD
Anyways, transportation.. My father say It's too expensive to take cab everywhere. So, we just walked and used the subway. To purchase a subway ticket:
1) You select your destination, for example, Jordan on the touch screen ticket machine.
2) You insert your cash, for example HK10.50 and then the orange train pass pops out at the bottom.
3) Then, you insert your ticket in the barrier, then you walk through the crowd, down the talking escilator (Please mind your step.. ==) And you wait for the train to come.
4) When it does, you just march in and grab anything you can hold on to, coz the trains are fast, like REALLY FAST.
5) Throughout the journey, you will hear the usual reminders from the train's computer. "please stand back from the doors" "to curb the spread of the H1N1 virus.."
No words can express how I feel. You know why? Coz I PAID for the train tickets, the street food, water, drinks, ferry fair etc. coz I gave my mother my stash of foreign money. I think I gave her about 500 DOLLARS worth of COINS!! ==*
Oh yea, there's this place in the market that sells nothing but phones, 3 floors of nothing but the latest handsets, all at BARGAIN prices so LOW anyone would be begging their parents to get them one. When I first came there, I literally had to had to close my eyes from the shinyness!! AAaaaahhhh... (Imaginary sounds) So.. So.. SHINY!! Wait, it's just coming from that LG phone in the guy's hands.. o.O.. (Spoiler betul.. == xD)
So many things to say but so little energy to type.. Ermm.. oh yea.. every face I look at, I ALWAYS see someone I know. I saw like 10 Pn. Lau look a likes, when I was staring at one of them in the train, I almost fell down when the computer said Ching Yeet!!! (Ching Yet) But it was actually the name of the train station (Tsing Yi) 2 Pn. Chans, the news journalist looked just like Pn. Goh!! Imagine waking up to her on the TV xD!! Erm.. I saw an old version of Dom in the train, like 5 Jareds, 2 Jo Ees, like 7 Rachels, 2 old man versions of Jia Jun, A fat version of Christine (seriously) and another slim but slightly emo version of her on the train, adult version of Eric's bro in the restaurant, etc. Too lazy to remember anymore...
Soo many things to type, but I have better things to do.. Will be uploading some pictures later on. BB!! =D
